CLYDE - Elmwood's girls golf team completed a perfect season in the Northern Buckeye Conference Monday afternoon.
The Royals clinched the NBC championship by winning the conference tournament at Green Hills Golf Course.

The Royals entered the tournament almost assured of winning the NBC championship because they had won all four of the conference shootouts earlier in the season.
The NBC champion is determined by points awarded during the shootouts and the conference tournament.
Points in the conference tournament were worth double.
The combined points system also is used to determine the NBC's player of the year and all-conference teams.
In the shootouts, only the top three finishes are counted.
Elmwood senior Taylor Carr was the medalist, beating classmate Sierra Semko on the first hole of a sudden-death playoff. Carr also was the player of the year.
Carr and Semko both shot a 98, while Elmwood sophomore Alexis Miller had a 100 and senior Savannah Baker added a 102.
The Royals' four scores were the four best rounds of the day.
"Our goal was to win the league and all of us have worked hard to reach that goal," Carr said. "The season has been more than we ever expected. We're really happy with the way it turned out.
"It's really satisfying because we've played well all season. We weren't given anything or we didn't back into something. We've worked hard for this."
Elmwood entered the season with high expectations.
The Royals returned all six of their players from last season when they finished third in the NBC.
Heather Ickes added a 123 for the Royals and Maggie Tuite had a 139. Both are juniors.
Baker, Carr, Semko and Miller were first-team All-NBC, and Ickes was honorable-mention.
"We never believed success was a given," said Elmwood coach Michele Story, who is in her seventh season. "We went at every shootout like it was the most important one and that's how we treated today. Even though we had won all four shootouts, we still wanted to go out and play the game we can play. We did that."
Elmwood has broken its school record nine-hole score three times this season.
The record was 191 starting the season and has been lowered to 181.
"They play a lot of tournaments in the summer and they just love the game," Story said. "They play a lot and they want to improve. The extra playing in the summer really made a difference."
Baker, Carr and Semko are in their fourth varsity season.
"The three seniors have really worked hard at it and improved each year, so I knew this would be their year,' Story said. "They've played as a team. When one was down, another stepped up and scored for us. They've really come together as a team, exactly what you would want. It's been a team effort all year."
Carr won the playoff for medalist honors by one stroke with a six on the 18th hole.
"I struggled a little bit today, but it was worth it because we still won as a team and that's the most important thing," Carr said. "It was hard playing (Semko) in the playoff because we're teammates."
"Being player of the year means a lot," Carr added. "It's been one of my goals, but it's even nicer to win the award because we won as a team, too. The team championship makes it even nicer."
