|Elmwood boys win invitational in Van Buren (4-13-13)|

Elmwood’s Derick Mobus won three individual events and Loren Strausbaugh had a hand in four victories to help the Royals capture the Doug Mowery Invitational Friday at Van Buren High School.
Elmwood won 11 events and finished with 1971⁄2 points in the eight-team field. North Baltimore was seventh with 281⁄2 points.
Mobus won the 100 (11.55), 200 (23.71) and the triple jump (38-81⁄4).
Aaron Arnold and Strausbaugh each had two individual wins.
Arnold won the 400 (55.38) and the long jump (19-41⁄2).
Strasbaugh won the 1,600 (4:51.86) and 3,200 (10.30.74).
Also for the Royals, Alex Jasso won the 800 (2:06.84); Michael Meeker won the shot put (47-9); the 1,600 relay team of Austin Jasso, Arnold, Alex Jasso and Strausbaugh won in 3:42.22; and the 3,200 relay team of Andrew Jasso, Alex Jasso, Josh Mathias and Strausbaugh won in 8:44.0.
The Royals also had five seconds in the meet.
NB’s top finish was a fourth by the 800 relay team of Jacob Dick, Nathan Flores, Tyler Stimmel and Zack Finkenbiner in 1:47.81.
Elmwood girls finish third
In Van Buren, Elmwood’s girls were third in Doug Mowery Invitational Friday.
Van Buren won the eight-team meet with 134 points. Carey was second with 112, Elmwood was third at 111 and North Baltimore was seventh with 43.
Elmwood’s Madison Sears won the 400 (1:05.58) and the Royal’s 400 relay team of Amanda Jones, Liz Garner, Courtney Emmitt and Morgan Huff won in 55.46.
Elmwood also had four seconds.
NB’s Megan Ernsberger was third in the 100 hurdles (18.73) and teammate Lindsey Davis was third in the high jump (4-6).
