Eastwood, Perrysburg win at Oak Harbor (05-12-14)

OAK HARBOR – Eastwood’s boys and Perrysburg’s girls won team championships Saturday in the Oak Harbor
Invitational track and field meet.
The Eagle boys won six events and totaled 148 points in the 10-team meet.
Van Wert was a distant second with 97. Also from Wood County, Perrysburg was fourth with 731‚Ñ2 and Lake
was eighth with 331‚Ñ2.
Eastwood’s Devin Snowden won the three events and Eagles won three relays, two in a meet-record time.
Snowden swept the hurdles, winning the 110s in 15.16 and 300s in 40.54. He also went 22-43‚Ñ4 to win the
long jump.
The Eagles’ 400 team of Grant Geiser, Snowden, Brennan Seifert and Joe Salinas won in 43.50, breaking the
record of 43.60 set by Eastwood in 2008.
Eastwood’s 1,600 team of Fredericks, Hoodlebrink, Salinas and Smith won in 3:26.12, breaking Genoa’s
record of 3:27.10 set in 1991.
Eastwood’s 3,200 team of Gabe Fredericks, Logan Baugher, Noah Smith and Tim Hoodlebrink won in 8;11.8
Perrysburg’s Andrew Bayes won the 3,200 in 10:15.31.
Lake’s Brandyn Neal won the 400 in 51.30.
In the girls meet, Perrysburg won five events, including two meet records, and scored 129 points.
Oak Harbor was second with 1081‚Ñ2. Also from the county, Eastwood was third with 96 and Lake was ninth
with 341‚Ñ2.
Perrysburg’s 3,200 relay team of Grace Reddick, Clare Lahey, Alexis Kemp and Jordan Doore won in 9:40.63,
breaking the record of 9:44.34 set by the Yellow Jackets in 2011.
The Yellow Jackets’ Courtney Clody set the record in winning the 1,600 with a time of 5:05.73, breaking
the record of 5;12.10 set in 2000.
Teammate Taylor Monheim was the runnerup in 5:06.87, also faster than the previous record.
Perrysburg’s other individual winners were: Kemp, 800, 2:23.33; and Emily Henry, 3,200, 11:47.96.
Perrysburg’s 400 team of Brittany Watson, Kayla Laumann, Katherine Diehl and Cameron Clark won in 51.45.

Eastwood’s Elise Wolff won the pole vault (10-3).
Lake’s Lauren Ozuk threw 34-31‚Ñ2 to finish second in the shot put.
