Eastwood's baseball team opened Northern Buckeye Conference play with a win, and Perrysburg's AJ Stockwell, and Otsego's Hunter Donald and Kylie Asmus all pitched no-hitters during high school baseball and softball action Wednesday.
Eastwood was a 5-0 winner over Fostoria and Stockwell's no-hitter came in a 7-1 victory over Napoleon.
For Otsego, Donald had a no-hitter in an 11-0 win over Woodmore and Asmus pitched a no-hitter in a  2-1 victory over Woodmore.

Eastwood 5, Fostoria 0
In Luckey, Eastwood improved to 5-3 overall.
Jordan Luther picked up the win, and teammate Ryan Mang was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs.

Perrysburg 7, Napoleon 1
In Perrysburg, Stockwell threw a no-hitter and had six strikeouts in a Northern Lakes League victory.
Top hitters for Perrysburg were: Mark Delas, 2-for-4 with a triple; Nick Munger, 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI; and Nick Fleming, 2-for-2 with two RBI.

Otsego 11, Woodmore 0
In Tontogany, Donald pitched a no-hitter and the Knights pounded 14 hits in an NBC win.
Top hitters for Otsego were: Donald, 3-for-3 with a double and two RBI; Ryan Smoyer, 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI; and Zac Gregory, 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Elmwood 5, Genoa 0
In Jerry City, Elmwood's Zach Irick nearly pulled off a no-hitter as the Royals won their NBC opener. Elmwood is 5-2 overall.
The Comets' only hit came in the top of the seventh. Irick had five strikeouts and walked one.
Zach Foster was 3-for-4 with two RBI and Austin Hoiles had a double and an RBI.

Lake 8, Rossford 1
In Rossford, Lake's Jayce Vancena fanned 14 and walked one to give the Flyers their first NBC win. Lake is 5-3, 1-0 and Rossford is 2-7, 0-1.
For Lake, Brad Ackerman was 2-for-2 with two RBI and Spencer Schultz was 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
Noah Asmus was 2-for-3 for Rossford.

BGHS 5, Northview 3
In Sylvania, Bowling Green put together a rally late in the game to pick up its first NLL win. The Bobcats are 9-2, 1-1.
Taylor Gambrell went 3-for-3, including a two-RBI, game-winning double in the top of the seventh.
Mitchell Cromley, 1-for-3 with two runs scored and the game-tying RBI in the seventh. Jeremy Chambers was 1-for-3 with an RBI.
BG opened NLL play Monday with a 7-0 loss to Southview. The Bobcats had just four hits.
On Friday in a nonleague game, BG was a 13-1 winner over Toledo Rogers.
Chambers was 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI for BG, and Gambrell was 2-for-3 with a triple.

North Baltimore 3, Calvert 0
In Tiffin, North Baltimore opened Midland Athletic League play with a win. The Tigers are 3-4.
Jordan Watson had 11 strikeouts and gave up two hits.
Top hitters for NB were: Zach Stewart,  two singles and two RBI; Dalton Ishmael, two hits; and Watson and Jacob Frost. double each.

Lakota 3, Carey 0
In Kansas, Lakota improved to 5-4 and 2-0 in the MAL.
Nick Watts struck out 11, walked two and gave up three hits.
Top hitters were: Austin Payne, 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI; Nathan Ray, 1-for-3 with a double; and Tiger Jaso, 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI.

Otsego 2, Woodmore 1
In a pitchers' duel in Tontogany, Asmus pitched a no-hitter to give the Knights their first NBC victory. Otsego is 1-1 in the league.
Asmus recorded 13 strikeouts and issued four walks. Her counterpart, Maddie Phillips, had 15 strikeouts and gave up four hits and a walk.
Tied going into the bottom of the seventh with two outs Makenzie Wenig reached on a drag bunt and stole second. She later scored on a Savannah Schwind pop-up that was not caught.
Top hitters for Otsego were: Asmus, single and a triple and Natalie Wright, a double.

Northview 8, BGHS 3
In Sylvania, BG gave up five runs in the second inning in an NLL loss.
BG had six hits, including a home run by Hanna Williford.

Perrysburg 6, Napoleon 2
In Perrysburg, the Yellow Jackets stayed undefeated in NLL play. Perrysburg is 3-6 and 2-0.
Perrysburg's Madison Gerding was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI.

Eastwood 10, Fostoria 5
In Luckey, Eastwood remained undefeated after it picked up its second NBC win. The Eagles are 8-0.
Whitney Foster had 14 strikeouts and walked one.
Top hitters for Eastwood were: Cassidy Rolf, 4-for-5 with a double; Mackenzie Albright, 3-for-5 with a triple; and Michaela Bunge with a double.

Lake 8, Rossford 7
In Rossford, Lake's top hitters were: Emma Materni, 3-for-4 and Allie Kontak, 2-for-3.
For Rossford, the top hitters were: Kelly Swope, 2-for-3 with a home run; Claire Verbosky, 1-for-1 with two RBI; and Maddie York, 1-for-4 with a triple and RBI.
Rossford is 6-3 overall. The game was the NBC opener for both schools.

Elmwood 5, Genoa 0
In Jerry City, Miranda Benschoter pitched a shutout in an NBC matchup.
Top hitters for Elmwood were: Olivia Myers, 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI; Rebecca Harvey, 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI; and Tori Hillard, 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI.

North Baltimore 9,
Tiffin Calvert 2
In North Baltimore, the Tigers had 15 hits to improve to 6-4 overall and 2-0 in the MAL.
NB's leading hitters were: Megan Wright, 2-for-4, triple; Kelsey Gazarek, 2-for-3, double, three RBI; Courtney Bretz, 2-for-4; Ricci Emahiser, 2-for-4, triple, three RBI; and Cheyenne Hernandez and Kelcie Bean, both 2-for-4.

Lakota 9, Carey 8
In Kansas, Lakota won in the bottom of the seventh to capture an MAL victory.
Top hitters for Lakota were: Nikkia Cooper, 2-for-3; Alaina Bickford, 2-for-4 with a triple and an RBI; Morgan Gangwer, 2-for-3 with two RBI; and Aubrey Bickford, 1-for-4 with a double.

BGHS 82, Northview 46
In Sylvania, Trey Loescher won the 100 (11.7) and the 200 (24.3), and Lucas Overmyer won the 1,600 (4:59) and the 3,200 (11.03) to help BG win an NLL meet Tuesday.

BGHS 69, Northview 55
In Sylvania, Maria Horrigan won the 200 (28.1) and the pole vault (11-0), and Sasha Lanning won the 1,600 (5:48) and the 3,200 (12:45) to help BG post an NLL victory.

Junior varsity results
Bowling Green is 9-0.
