D-II track: Eastwood girls take first at districts PDF Print E-mail

Eastwood’s girls finished first out of 15 teams at the Division II district track meet at Oak Harbor High School Friday.
The Eagles finished with 86 points, seven ahead of second-place Oak Harbor.
Advancing individually to regionals for Eastwood were: Katlin Nicely, second, 100 (13.6); Rachel McNay, second, 300 hurdles (47.9); and Whitney Hoodlebrink, fourth, 300 hurdles (49.8);
Eastwood’s 800 relay team of Ericca Hollister, Katie Primeau, Ashley Seifert and Courtney Rolf was fourth (1:51.8). The Eagles’ 400 relay team of Seifert, Nicely, Vicki Bruning and Rolf was third in a time of 52.0.
Advancing for Otsego were: Kylee Bernthisel, first, 1,600 (5:31.8), and third, 3,200 (12:34.6); Alexis Levin, second, 200 (27.3); and Leah Wagoner, 3,200 (12:21.7);
Advancing for Lake were: Jessica Abbey, third, 400 (1:02.5); and Rebecca Boos, fourth, 200 (27.6).
Lake’s 800 relay team of Nichole Henry, Ashley Timmons, Abbey and Boos was second in a time of 1:51.3.
Rossford’s 1,600 relay team of Abbie Riehm, Abbey Geraghty, Erica Stolar and Courtney Allard was third (4:13.7).
The top four finishers in each event advance to next week’s regional meet at Lexington.
Also scoring were: Eastwood — McNay, sixth, 100 hurdles (17.6); Cassie Hoffman, seventh, 800 (2:34.8); Rolf, sixth, 200 (28.8); Hollister, seventh, 200 (28.9); and Madi Renollet, fifth, 3,200 (12:50.4);
Lake — Rebecca Boos, sixth, 100 (14.0); and Hunter Johnson, fifth, 300 hurdles (50.2);
Rossford — Andrea White, eighth, 100 hurdles (17.9); and Kasey Geraghty, fifth, 1,600 (5:53.0), and eighth, 3,200 (13:09.3);
Eastwood’s 1,600 relay team of McNay, Nicely, Hoodlebrink and Seifert was sixth (4:21.3).
Rossford’s 800 relay team of Abbie Riehm, Allard, Stolar and Annie Reihm was fifth in a time of 1:52.2. The Bulldogs’ 400 relay team consisting of the same members was sixth in a time of 53.1.
Lake’s 400 relay team of Hannah Cox, Timmons, Caitlin Stickler and Tatiana Walters was seventh (53.4).

DIVISION II
At Oak Harbor
Eastwood’s Seifert wins 100, 200
Eastwood’s Cody Seifert took first in the 100 (11.6) and the 200 (22.5) to lead the Eagles to a second-place finish in the team standings at Oak Harbor High School. Eastwood finished with 93 points, four behind first-place Sandusky Perkins.
Also advancing individually for Eastwood were: Justin Welch, first, discus (195-5); and Nick Twining, second, 800 (1:57.7).
The top four finishers in each event advance to next week’s regional meet at Lexington.
Eastwood’s 800 relay team of Isaiah Conkle, Jon Rogers, Nick Twining and Kyle Schlumbohm was fourth in a time of 1:33.7. The Eagles’ 400 relay team of Nate Wagner, Nick Schmeltz, Taylor Depew and Zach Conkle was second in a time of 44.0. Eastwood’s 1,600 relay team of Zach Conkle, Twining, Depew and Schlumbohm was fourth (3:28.5).
Lake’s Louis Szilagyi advanced in both the 1,600, fourth (4:35.1); and 3,200, second, (10:11.6).
Otsego’s Josh Wazelle was second in the 1,600 (4:34.8).
Also scoring were: Eastwood — Matt Pickerel, seventh, 110 hurdles (16.8), and fifth, high jump (5-8); Taylor Depew, fifth, 100 (12.1); and Zach Conkle, fifth, 200 (23.5); 
Lake — Dylan Hirzel, seventh, 300 hurdles (42.9); Nathan Adkins, sixth, 800 (2:03.4); and Zach Powell, 3,200, fifth (10:16.8);
Otsego — Eli Cheney, seventh, 1,600 (4:51.0); Jacob Stephens, seventh, 400 (52.7); and Bryan Vollmar, fifth, high jump (5-8); and Rossford — Alex Johannson, fifth, 400 (52.5).
Rossford’s 800 relay team of Andrew McFarland, Alex Johannson, Devon Childress and Drew Brock was fifth in a time of 1:34.6.
