152; Caleb Matheny, 145; and Dalton Neifer, 132.
Coach’s comment: "The Bobcats will look to improve from last season. We return
two district qualifiers and five NLL placers from last year. We will be led by
seniors Devin Allen and Anthony Gutierrez. A strong junior class of Jacobs,
Anderson, Dallas Duron, Alex Gutierrez Caleb Matheny and Dalton Neifer will add
depth to our lineup. With a strong group of sophomores and freshmen, we should
be very competitive this season."

Returning lettermen: Seniors Brad Radabaugh, 152; Randy Caris, 160; Kyle Patterson,
182; and Adam Wolf, 195; and Joe Nauman, 220.

afford injuries. We have a nice nucleus of seniors with experience returning.
We’ll start at least five freshman. The team is working hard and we will become
a good team."
ELMWOOD
Coach: David Lee, 25th season.
2011-12 finish: First in the NBC.
Returning lettermen: Seniors George Andrich, 106/113; Dustin Ferguson, 120/126;
Michael Baer, 145; Allen Dyar, 160/170; Alex Jasso, 145/152; and Justin
Hathaway, 145; juniors Brik Dauterman, 132/138; and Jake Wise, 160/170; and
sophomores Brandon Pennington, 120; Dylan Benschoter, 126/132; and Devon Uzelac,
195/220.
Coach’s comment: "We have good numbers, a great coaching staff and a great
tradition. We may be young and inexperienced, but the team is learning fast and
improving. We were picked second in the NBC preseason coaches poll with Genoa
first and Eastwood third. We can accomplish that and make Genoa sweat come the
end of the season. In our first scrimmage, I was very impressed with what was
accomplished and as usual, the wrestlers didn’t back down, even they were
getting beat. With continued hard work, great things are to come."
LAKE
Coach: Tom Jackson, 14th season.
2011-12 finish: Sixth in the NBC.
Returning lettermen: Seniors Ryan Smith, 126; Chris Salaz, 138/145; and Zach Meek,
145/152; junior Damon Keister, 106; and sophomores Matt Church, 113; and Robert
Cruz, 170.
Coach’s comment: "Our goal is to place in the top three in the conference. Our
strengths are our experienced senior wrestlers, Smith, Meek and Salaz, with a
couple of strong returners in the lower weights with Keister and Church. Church,
Meek and Salaz are all returning district qualifiers. Our success is going to be
determined on the ability of some of our less experienced wrestlers to fill in
some spots and win some key matches."
OTSEGO
Coach: Joe Gerwin, second season.
2011-12 finish: Seventh in the NBC.
Returning lettermen: Senior Jay Beardsley,152; junior Jordan Hendrix, 160; and
sophomores Buddy Limes, 120; Trenton Soto, 126/132; Austin Glosser, 138; Riley
Tercha, 145; David Glenn, 152; and Zach Zuhlsdorf, 182.
Coach’s comment: "Our team continues to get better and grow. Our goal is to
finish in the top half of our league and send some of our wrestlers to state.
Our strength is our work ethic and team cohesion. Our weakness is depth at the
extreme ends of the weight classes and lack of experienced upperclassmen.
Despite our challenges, Otsego wrestlers never stop fighting. To be successful,
we need to start believing that we can contend with the top teams. I have no
doubt that we will work hard enough to get there. The rest of the game is purely
mental."
ROSSFORD
Coach: Ron Recknagel, 14th season.
2011-12 finish: Last in the NBC.
Returning lettermen: Seniors Jacob Carlen, 182; Kyle Robbins, 285; David Klocko, 152;
Steve Nordhaus, 195; juniors Jake Burlage, 126; CJ Ball, 120; Christian
Goldsmith, 132; and Dallas Johnson, 160; and sophomores Evan Austin, 113; Casey
Orr, 145; and Andy Myers, 170.
Coach’s comment: "We don’t have depth with only 25 wrestlers on the roster, so
staying/getting healthy is the key. We already have a number of wrestlers with
nagging injuries. Hopefully, they will be ready to go by our first match. After
finishing last in 2012, there is only one way to go."
