FOSTORIA — Eastwood’s girls won their 14th straight league track and field championship Saturday at Memorial Stadium.
The Eagles won seven events and used their depth to win with 169 points. Elmwood was second with 116, and Lake was third with 92 1/2.
Eastwood’s Elise Wolff won the pole vault with a meet-record height of 10-6 and the 100 hurdles (16.80), and teammate Hannah Sponaugle won the 1,600 in 5:29.56 and the 3,200 in a meet-record time of 12.07.08.  MEET RESULTS
Also for the Eagles, Brittany Brittian won the discus (119-11), Maddie Jackson won the 800 (2:23.03) and the 1,600 relay team of Jackson, Alyssa Decker, Jolynn Nissen and Meagan Kaminski won in 4:17.25.
Eastwood has won all three NBC championships after winning the final 11 Suburban Lakes League titles.
“I’m very proud of our effort and I’m very happy with the way the day turned out,” said Eastwood coach Nikki Sabo, who is in her fifth season. PHOTO GALLERY
The Eagles’ point total is even more impressive because they failed to score in the long jump and earned just six points in the high jump
Eastwood had two of the top eight finishers in the other 11 non-relay events. All 17 events score eight places.
The Eagles also were second in the 3,200 and 800 relays, and third in the 400 relay.
“That’s how you win this type of meet. You’ve got to have the depth in the individual races and our relays stepped up,” Sabo said.
Wolff, a senior, won the pole vault for the third straight year, breaking her own mark of 10-3 set last year.
Rossford freshman Regan Clay was the athlete of the meet, setting meet records in winning the 400 (58.96) and the 200 (25.95).
Clay also ran the anchor leg on Rossford’s winning 800 relay team which had a time of 1:48.49. Also on the relay were Taylor Stolar, Pietrasz and Shelby Redway.
Clay also ran on the 1,600 relay team which was second in 4:17.95. Also on the relay were Redway, Stolar and Pietrasz.
“Today’s been an awesome day because we’ve done well as a team,” Clay said. “We’ve had a lot of people score points. It’s not just one person doing well.”
Elmwood’s Madison Sears won the 100 in 13.00 and the 300 hurdles in 48.86, and teammate Liz Garner won the long jump (15-7 1/4 ).
Lake had two winners — Lauren Ozuk in shot put, 33-10 1/4; and Sara Dabney in the high jump, 4-10.
Otsego’s 3,200 relay team of Dayna Fackler, Mallory Beach, Lauren Wynn and Alex Wenig won in a meet-record time of 9:58.51.
Otsego set the record last season in 10:04.10, and Fackler, Beach and Wenig returned from that team.
