Abby Hesselschwardt scored 16 points to help Otsego down Lakota, 48-17 in a nonleague girls game Monday.
In other girls games, it was: Clay 61, Lake 27; Genoa 79, Northwood 35; and North Baltimore 61, Lima Perry 43.
In a nonleague boys game, it was: Holgate 90, North Baltimore 72.

BASKETBALL
GIRLS
Otsego 48, Lakota 17
In Kansas, Otsego opened the game with 15 points in the first quarter and went on to post the nonleague win.
In addition to Hesselschwardt's 16 points, Morgan Smoyer scored 13 points for the Knights.
Paige Alloway led Lakota with six points.
Otsego is 2-2 and Lakota is 1-2.

Villanova (Ontario) won the Bowling Green High School Thanksgiving hockey tournament Sunday with a 2-1 win over the Bobcats in the Ice Arena.
Matt Badour had 20 saves for the Wildcats, who scored in each of the first two periods for a 2-0 lead.
BG’s Adam Furnas scored in the third period.
The Bobcats’ Tanner Fausnaugh made 12 saves.

The Bobcats and Villanova advanced to the championship game after the round-robin portion of the four-team tournament.
Villanova was 3-0 in the round-robin, while BG was 2-1.
The Bobcats split two games Saturday.
BG was a 3-1 loser to Villanova in a night game after posting a 5-1 morning win against Springboro.
Against Villanova, Justus Smith scored for BG and Fausnaugh had 15 saves.

Perrysburg's Mesker first-team All-Ohio (12-3-13) PDF Print E-mail

COLUMBUS — Perrysburg’s Matt Mesker was a first-team defensive selection on the Division II All-Ohio football team announced Monday night.
The senior defensive back had 110 tackles and three interceptions to help the Yellow Jackets to a 9-3 record overall and a Northern Lakes League championship.
Perrysburg also advanced to the second round of the state playoffs.

North Baltimore downed Elmwood and Eastwood, Otsego and Rossford all posted wins in Saturday’s boys nonleague basketball action.
North Baltimore was an 84-75 winner over Elmwood, Eastwood was a 66-53 winner over Maumee, Otsego was a 45-44 winner over Swanton and Rossford was a 52-46 winner over Northview.

In North Baltimore, the Tigers shot 46-of-64 from the free-throw line in the win.
NB had four players score in double figures: Jacob Frost, 19; Levi Newcomer, 18; Lane Bishop, 15; and Chad Wright, 12. Newcomer made 14 free throws and Bishop made 13.
Aaron Arnold led Elmwood with 39 points, making 15 free throws, and nine rebounds, and Jarret Childress added 14 points. Elmwood was 21-of-34 from the line.
