BRYAN - Rossford's boys bowling team won the Bryan Holiday Tournament at Bryan Lanes.
The Bulldogs had a 3,504 total to defeat six other teams. Eastwood was third with 3,364.
Stephen Hernandez led Rossford with 202 game and a three-game series of 530.

Mackenzie Albright scored 15 points to help Eastwood earn its first win of the year, 43-38 over Tiffin Columbian Monday.
In the other nonleague girls game Monday, Toledo Whitmer beat Lake, 66-35.

In Luckey, Eastwood was 13-of-17 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter to secure the win,
Albright was 6-of-6 from the line in the final quarter and Emily Hayward, 10 points in the game, was 5-of-6.
For the game, Eastwood (1-9) was 19-of-25 from the line.

Lamontá Stone scored 23 points Saturday to help Bowling Green's boys basketball team post an 80-75 win over Houston.
In other boys games, it was: Lake 67, Bryan 64; Perrysburg 68, Toledo Whitmer 54; Springfield 64, Eastwood 54; Arcadia 59, Elmwood 34; Lima Perry 72, North Baltimore 44; and Lakota 61, Emmanuel Christian 58.
In girls games, it was: Lake 42, Fostoria St. Wendelin 38; North Baltimore 52, Vanlue 31; Danbury 51, Lakota 23; and Evergreen 54, Northwood 22.

BGHS 80, Houston 75
In Houston, the Bobcats used a big second quarter to improve to 2-5 overall.
BG held a 20-17 lead after one quarter and expanded it to 42-26 at the half.
The Bobcats led by 20 points with just over five minutes remaining, but held on as the Wildcats (5-3) scored 32 points in the fourth quarter.

PERRYSBURG - Odds are if you follow Perrysburg athletics you recognize the name Allex Brown.
The junior multi-sport athlete has already put together an impressive résumé as a Yellow Jacket. Highlighting her athletic career thus far are a 2012 girls state soccer title and a trip to the regional semifinals last season as a member of the girls basketball team.
With an impressive list of accomplishments as a teammate, Brown has added an individual feat - the 6-foot-1 post has committed to play basketball at Indiana University-Purdue University-Indianapolis.
"A weight was definitely lifted off of my shoulders after I made that phone call," said Brown, whose final decision came between offers from IUPUI and Northern Kentucky University.

BGHS hockey beats St. Francis to win tourney title (12-29-13) PDF Print E-mail

Bowling Green won the Mister Spots Invitational high school hockey tournament Sunday with a 6-3 win over St. Francis in the Ice Arena.
The Bobcats scored the final three goals to pull away from a 3-3 tie.
Drew Mankowski’s power-play goal broke the tie with 3:41 left in the second period and Grant DeWitt increased BG’s lead to two goals just 32 seconds later.
The Bobcats’ clinched the win on Connor Senn’s empty-net goal with 26 seconds remaining in the game.
Senn scored twice, while Joe Costic and Phillip Rich had the other BG goals.
BG held a 36-32 edge in shots, with Tanner Fausnaugh making 29 saves.
“We played well," BG coach Dan DeWitt said. “We stuck to the game plan and did the little things correctly, and we were rewarded for it.”
