MILLBURY — Undefeated and state-ranked Lake took it to Otsego early on and rolled to a 78-48 Northern Buckeye Conference boys basketball victory on Tuesday.
The Flyers, ranked sixth in Division II, are 12-0 and 5-0. Otsego dropped to 5-5, 3-2.
Lake jumped out to a 28-6 lead after one quarter interrupting the passing lanes, suffocating the Knights with traps and pushing the tempo of the game.  PHOTO GALLERY
“The kids came out tonight flying around,” Lake coach Ryan Bowen said. “Everyone bought into how we wanted to start the game."
“We wanted to push the ball as much as possible and we wanted our defense to be our offense.”
Tuesday’s game was a key league matchup. An Otsego win would have forced a three-way tie for first place in the NBC between Lake, Otsego and Rossford.

WHITEHOUSE — Nick Moschetti showed everybody at Anthony Wayne why overall shooting stats sometimes do not matter.
Perrysburg’s standout guard scored a game-high 19 points Friday night on what might be considered an “off night,” as Moschetti was 0-for-7 from 3-point range.  PHOTO GALLERY
That is, until his last 3-pointer which lifted the Yellow Jackets to a 48-46 Northern Lakes League win over the Generals.
Perrysburg is 10-1 overall and sits alone atop the NLL at 5-1, while AW is 6-3, 4-2. Springfield is one-half game behind the ’Jackets at 4-1 in the league.
Moschetti, at 6-foot-3, is averaging 22.5 points per game, and included in those points are numerous 3-pointers.
Trailing 46-44 with 20.3 seconds left, Perrysburg inbounded, swung the ball to the left wing where Moschetti, with a confident stroke, caught nothing but nylon, giving the Yellow Jackets a 47-46 lead.
