WHITEHOUSE —Teams such as the Anthony Wayne Generals, which feature a formidable inside-outside presence with 6-foot-5 senior post Jake Reid and 6-3 senior guard Matt Fox, can force opponents to pick their poison.
The Bowling Green Bobcats, in falling 58-45 to AW, focused much of their attention on Fox, who while limited to a single point in the second half, accounted for 10 first-half points.
However, Reid exploded for 11 of his game-high 20 points in the third quarter. Behind Reid’s aggressive inside play, the Generals expanded a slim 29-26 halftime lead into a 43-31 advantage with 1:33 left in the third quarter when sophomore guard Collin Conrad (12 points) nailed the third of his four triples on the night.

ROSSFORD — With just four league games remaining and perched on top of the Northern Buckeye Conference standings, Rossford’s boys basketball team knows every game counts.
And on Friday, despite playing a team that is winless in the NBC, the Bulldogs played like it counted.
Rossford dominated Fostoria 73-18 to improve to 9-1 in the league and 12-5 overall. Rossford is tied for first place in the NBC with Lake, also 9-1. The two teams will play Tuesday at Lake.
“We tell the kids we have everything to lose. Everything we have worked for the last two years is at stake every time we step out on the floor,” said Rossford coach Brian Vorst.
Rossford opened the game on a 22-2 run. The dominance continued as the lead ballooned to a 34-4 midway through the second quarter. It grew to 49-9 with 5:07 left in the third quarter.

SYLVANIA — It’s rare when one player is out-scoring the entire opposition, unless it happens to be early in the game.
But Friday night midway through the fourth quarter, Perrysburg guard Nick Moschetti led Northview 43-42 — by himself.
The 6-foot-3 Moschetti broke Perrysburg’s single-game scoring record, as the Yellow Jackets thumped Northview 85-47 in a Northern Lakes League matchup.
Moschetti finished with 43 points, going 15-of-26 (58 percent) from the field. Trevor Hafner added 10 points.
Perrysburg’s previous record was 41 points, set during the 2003-04 season by Mike Dhondt.

JERRY CITY — Lake’s boys pulled away in the second half to move another step closer to a possible Northern Buckeye Conference title with a 76-33 victory over Elmwood Friday.
The Flyers, 15-1 overall and 9-1 in the NBC, face Fostoria Saturday, and then host a showdown with Rossford, also 9-1 in the NBC, on Tuesday.
‘‘Every game is important. If you have noticed the games (in the league) the last couple of weeks have been odd,’’ Lake head coach Ryan Bowen said. ‘‘No game is safe. ... We definitely respect every team in this league.’’
Lake led 28-17 at the half and then scored 48 points in the second half.
