BG softball shut out by Maumee (05-02-14)

Bowling Green’s softball team had just four singles Thursday in an 8-0 loss to Maumee.
The Bobcats are 11-7 overall and 4-4 in the Northern Lakes League.
Elmwood 9, Eastwood 4
In Jerry City, Elmwood handed Eastwood its first loss of the season in a key Northern Buckeye Conference
matchup. Both teams are 4-1 in the NBC
The Royals (12-3 overall) smacked 14 hits, including a 3-for-4 effort from Olivia Myers, who had a home
run and three RBI.
Other top hitters for Elmwood were: Miranda Benschoter, 3-for-4, double, triple; Rebecca Harvey, 2-for-3,
double; Lindsay George, 2-for-3, double, three RBI; Madison Arnold; 2-for-4, two RBI.
For Eastwood (16-1), Krista Jennings singled and doubled, Anna Rahrig had two hits and Morgan Getz
doubled.
Woodmore 3, Lake 0
In Elmore, Emma Materni doubled for Lake, 7-9 overall and 2-4 in the NBC.
Rossford 6, Wauseon 5
In Wauseon, Kelly Swope went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI as Rossford improved to 13-4 overall.

Margo Jackson was 2-for-4 with a double in the non league win.
Lakota 7, Carey 3, 8 innings
In Carey, Lakota totaled 13 hits en route to a Midland Athletic League victory.
Morgan Gangwer went the distance for the Raiders, striking out nine in eight innings of work.

Anthony Wayne 8, BGHS 1
In Whitehouse, AW built a 5-0 lead over the first four innings in an NLL game Wednesday.
BG’s Andy Fisher and Mitch Cromley pitched a three-hitter, striking out 11 and walking four.
Jeremy Chambers was 2-for-3 with a double and scored a run for BG.
Lake 8, Woodmore 4
In Elmore, Lake stayed unbeaten in the NBC Thursday. The Flyers are 16-2, 5-0.
Top hitters for Lake were: Anthony Pratt, 3-for-4, two doubles and three RBI; Connor Bowen, 2-for-4; and
Nick Walsh, 2-for-4, RBI.
Wauseon 3, Otsego 2,
8 innings
In Wauseon, Otsego gave up two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning and dropped to 4-10 overall.
Top hitters for the Knights were Trent Soto, 2-for-4 with an RBI; and Skyler Scherff, double.
