Bowling Green, Elmwood and Lake were seeded second for their respective boys sectional basketball tournaments. BG, 10-9 overall, plays in Division II at Swanton. In Division III, Elmwood (12-6) plays at Findlay High School and Lake (17-2) plays at Sandusky High School. Following is the sectional information for the Wood County schools: DIVISION I At Liberty-Benton Perrysburg (11-6) plays Lima Senior (7-12) in a first-round game Feb. 26 at 6:15 p.m. The winner plays second-seeded Fremont Ross (11-6) in a sectional final March 1 at 6:15 p.m. Anthony Wayne (15-3) was the No. 1 seed. The sectional champions remain at Liberty-Benton for a district semifinal. The district final is at the Stroh Center. DIVISION II At Swanton In the lower bracket Feb. 27, Rossford (9-10) plays Napoleon (6-11) at 6:15 p.m. and BG plays Bryan (11-9) at 8 p.m. The winners play for the sectional title March 1 at 8 p.m. In the upper bracket, Feb. 26, Eastwood (6-12) plays top-seeded Defiance (14-5) at 6:15 p.m. and Otsego (16-2) plays Wauseon (10-9) at 8 p.m. The winners play for the sectional title March 1 at 6:15 p.m. The district is at the Stroh Center. DIVISION III At Sandusky High School Lake plays Woodmore or Collins Western Reserve in a sectional final March 1 at 8 p.m. Huron was the No. 1 seed. The district is at Willard. At Findlay High School Lakota (6-13) plays Fostoria (2-16) in a first-round game Feb. 26 at 6 p.m. The winner plays top-seeded Liberty-Benton (18-1) in a sectional final at 6:15 p.m. Elmwood (12-6) plays Carey (14-6) or Van Buren (4-15) in a sectional final March 1 at 8 p.m. The district is at Lima Senior. DIVISION IV At Eastwood Northwood (5-13) plays second-seeded Otttawa Hills (14-3) in a first-round game Feb. 27 at 6:15 p.m. The winner plays Fremont St. Joseph (14-5) or Gibsonburg (9-10) in a sectional final March 1 at 8 p.m. Toledo Christian (16-2) was the No. 2 seed. The district is at Lakota. At Ottawa-Glandorf North Baltimore (2-16) plays top-seeded Leipsic (15-4) in a first-round game Feb. 27 at 6:15 p.m. The winner plays Cory-Rawson (10-9) or Arcadia (2-17) in a sectional final March 1 at 8 p.m. Columbus Grove (13-6) was the No. 1 seed. The district is at Liberty-Benton. |
