|Avers leads Otsego boys to meet title|

Brandon Avers was the individual champion to lead Otsego's boys cross country team to the Division II-III championship of the Clay Invitational at Pearson Park.
Avers' time was 16:32.
The Knights won the 22-team meet with 74 points.
Eastwood was third with 124 and Lake was sixth with 158.
Completing Otsego's top five were: Caleb Baus, 15th, 17:26; Seth Harnishfeger, 16th, 17:29; Jordy Ghesquiere, 18th, 17:35; and Derek Morgan, 24th, 17:57.
Eastwood's top five were: Gabe Fredericks, eighth, 17:11; Tim Hoodlebrink, 11th, 17:18; Sam Church, 25th, 17:59; Noah Smith, 30th, 18:07; and Josh Bierley, 51st, 18:35.
Lake's top five were: Tyler Rickman, sixth, 16:58; Scott Brittenham, 14th, 17:25; Orfrancis Ozuna, 31st, 18:08; Nick Walters, 47th, 18:30; and Aaron Witt, 62nd, 18:46.
In Division I, Perrysburg finished sixth out of 18 teams with 178 points.
Perrysburg's top five were: Andrew Bayes, 10th, 16:50; Parker Calvin, 20th, 17:08; Bobby Borger, 41st, 17:31; Anthony Glorioso, 49th, 17:38; and Hunter Frydenlund, 60th, 17:58.
Elmwood finishes fourth
At Eells Park, Elmwood finished fourth in the 11-team meet with 103 points and Rossford was 11th with 279.
Elmwood's top five were: Cheyne Jenkins, 11th, 17:41; Chris Goodrich, 17th, 18:02; Andrew Jasso, 21st, 18:09; Josh Mathias, 23rd, 18:14; and Matthew Wagner, 36th, 19:17.
Rossford's top five were: Taylor Smale, 34th, 19:12; Nolan York, 55th, 19:52; Martin Linthicum, 99th, 22:50; Mat Myers, 104th, 24:19; and Harrison Fink, 105th, 25:22.
