Plantation shutters (otherwise known simply as window shutters) are indoor coverings that can be used in almost any window. They are decorative enough that there is no need to dress them up with drapes or fabric. Shutters can make a window attractive from both inside & the outside. Shutters can also be resold at a higher value than fabric window coverings that may show wear & tear more prominently. Plantation shutters are typically made of wood or stiff vinyl which gives them the solid look of traditional outdoor shutters. They consist of a window frame that holds a number of horizontal slats which open & close on either a pull cord system or by simply moving the slats by hand. Horizontal blinds can easily be converted.
