Volunteers, including members of the BGSU University Women’s Garden Group, the Master
Gardeners and the Bowling Green Women’s Club, will begin planting the downtown flowers on Tuesday.
Individual and group volunteers are invited to join the effort. The hanging baskets, designed by Wolf’s
Blooms and Berries feature a colorful combination of supertunias in shades of pink and purple. Through
contributions the foundation’s Flower Fund, Downtown BG has bought five more baskets and brackets, so
the hanging baskets will extend further along Main Street.A combination of grasses and sweet potato
vines, accented with supertunias, will fill the sidewalk pots. The bulbs and perennials in raised beds
will be accented with matching annuals.Once the plants are in, volunteers help maintain them by weeding
and pruning. Community members and groups are invited to adopt sections of downtown for plant
maintenance.Tax deductible donations can be made to the foundation. For information, call (419)
