Tree management program offered

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources is partnering with the Northwest Ohio Woodland Association to
provide a tree management program for property owners in Northwest Ohio.
It will be held Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Lange’s Tree Farm, 5893 County Road 3, Swanton.
The Northwest Ohio Woodland Association provides educational support and opportunities for woodland
owners as well as anyone interested in the conservation and responsible, sustainable use and management
of the area’s woodland resources.
The free program is designed to educate participants about the American chestnut, planting hardwood
trees, tree pruning, identifying trees and a green tree marsh.
Walt and Donna Lange, 2010 Ohio Tree Farmers of the Year, will lead the program with assistance from
other natural resource experts.
Those planning to attend should make reservations by calling the ODNR Division of Forestry’s Findlay
office at 419-424-5004.
