When people think of the Wood County Fair, gardening is usually not the first thing that comes to mind.
Yet, the fair is abundant with garden ideas. The Wood County Master Gardeners have an information booth and display in the Home and Garden World. That building also showcases two flower shows which highlight items that grow in area gardens and other related displays.
Many of the area garden centers and landscaping businesses donate their time and products to enhance the look of many of the buildings around the buildings and other venues at the fairgrounds. The Wood County Park District has its annual display along the midway. Home-grown vegetables can be found in the Farm Products display in the Grange Building and the FFA entries in the Junior Fair Building.
Yes, enjoy the livestock, rides, exhibits and entertainment, but keep one eye peeled for an idea to employ in your own garden or landscape.
