WALBRIDGE - The elementary school here that is closing at the end of the school year will be open to the public on May 8.
From 6 to 8 p.m., the community is welcome to visit and reminisce about the school.
A program will start at 6 p.m. in the gym featuring a presentation and retirement of colors by Walbridge VFW Post and a brief history of Walbridge Elementary.
Edward Kolanko, a former student and Walbridge Council president, will speak.
There will be refreshments and viewing of historical photographs in the cafeteria.
The Lake Board of Education voted to sell the 90-year-old building and property last month, as part of $1.1 million in budget cuts.
