WALBRIDGE - The mayor's comment to police officers about parking problems in the village resulted in approximately three dozen tickets being issued.
At Wednesday's council meeting, Mayor Dan Wilczynski made a formal apology to residents for the ticket debacle.
After the last council meeting on Aug. 1, he said he had asked officers to be more aware of improperly parked vehicles.
He cited several examples of cars parked on lawns between houses, and between sidewalks and front porches.
That resulted, the mayor said, in officers issuing between 30 and 40 tickets - "a significant amount" - last week.
"I have turned all those into warnings and we'll deal with that in the police department," Wilczynski said, calling his officers "eager to please."

Sounds like a mayor who is all talk to me. Dont say it if you cant deal with the back lash mayor. Police Officers just did what they were told. Maybe Walbridge needs a zoning officer?
