Voters decide issues May 6

Voters will have the opportunity to cast their ballot in a variety of races and issues in the May 6
primary election.
Listed below are local issues as well as contested races for local offices on the primary ballot.
Wood County Commissioner – Republican (term commencing Jan. 1, 2015).
• Doris Herringshaw, Bowling Green.
• Kristi Kennelly, Perrysburg.
• James Matuszak, Perrysburg.
Municipal Issues
City of Rossford
• 0.4-mill replacement tax levy for recreational purposes. Five years, commencing in 2014, first due in
2015.
• 0.4-mill replacement tax levy for the construction or acquisition of improvements for recreational
purposes. Five years, commencing in 2014, first due in 2015.
• 1-mill renewal tax levy for the purpose of providing and maintaining fire apparatus, appliances,
buildings, or sites for fire protection operations, including payment of firefighting personnel. Five
years, commencing in 2014, first due in 2015.
• 0.6-mill renewal tax levy for the purpose of providing and maintaining fire apparatus, appliances,
buildings or site. Five years, commencing in 2014, first due in 2015.
Townships
• Montgomery Township – 1-mill renewal tax levy for road improvements. Three years, commencing 2014,
first due in 2015.
• Portage Township (excluding the villages of Portage and Jerry City) – 1-mill additional tax levy for
general construction, reconstruction, resurfacing and repair of streets, roads and bridges. Five years,
commencing in 2014, first due in 2015.
School Districts
• McComb Local School District – 0.5 percent income tax renewal for current operating expenses. Five
years, beginning Jan. 1, 2015.
• Northwood Local School District – 0.25 percent income tax for current operating expenses, for a
continuing period, and a bond issue of $10,870,000, for 37 years, 4.9 mills; for constructing school
facilities under the Classroom Facilities Assistance Program of the Ohio School Facilities Commission,
and related locally-funded initiatives, furnishing and equipping the facility, improving the sites and
acquiring interests in related land.
• Patrick Henry Local School District: 1.9-mill permanent improvement tax levy for a continuing period of
time.
Other Issues
• Northwest Wood Ambulance District – 4-mill replacement tax levy, providing ambulance service and
emergency medical services. Three years, starting in 2014, first due in 2015.
• Precinct 20: Local Option Uptown Downtown – Sunday sales of wine, mixed beverages and liquor, JH
Entertainment Inc., doing business as Uptown Downtown, 160-62 N. Main St., first and second floors and
patio, Bowling Green.
• Precinct 104: Local Option WalMart Supercenter Store #1913 – Sunday sales of wine, mixed beverages,
WalMart Stores East LP doing business as WalMart Super Center #1913, 131 W. Gypsy Lane, Bowling Green.
