CLEVELAND (AP) — A vigil for a Bowling Green State University student who was found dead in Lorain County
this week will be held at the university on Friday.
The vigil will take place at 9 p.m. on University Lawn at BGSU.
Cleveland Police say that Barron, 22, Fremont, was found dead at a Lorain County landfill and may have
fallen down a five- or six-story garbage chute at Progressive Field and landed in a large waste
container.
Barron went missing Friday night while attending a Jason Aldean concert at the Cleveland Indians’ home
stadium. A worker spotted his body Monday after a garbage truck emptied its load in a landfill near
Oberlin, about 35 miles west of Cleveland.
Lorain County coroner’s officials have not yet determined how Barron died. His death is being
investigated as a homicide.
Cleveland police Commander James Chura said Monday that Barron could have fallen through a garbage chute
positioned at the top of Progressive Field.
