LIME CITY – Perrysburg Township Police and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation
are continuing to investigate after a body was found in a Perrysburg Heights home Wednesday.
Township police discovered the body in the residence at 12313 Washington St. in Perrysburg Heights after
responding to a report of a mulch fire at the duplex just before 10:30 a.m.
The caller also expressed concern about the safety of an occupant in the house. Police and fire units
responded to the scene.
After the small fire was extinguished, police entered the home to check on the resident and found the
body.
An investigation is ongoing and no information has been released yet as to the identity of the individual
discovered in the home.
Dep. Police Chief Mike Gilmore said this morning that they are awaiting a coroner’s report in the case.
He did not indicate whether foul play is currently being suspected in the incident.
"We’re just checking it out," he said.
