TONTOGANY - The village's annual community festival will once again return, Friday through Sunday.

"I think it has a hometown feel and it brings the community together in a lot of different ways, which is what one of our goals is," said Jackie Pollick, secretary of the festival committee.

The event will kick off Friday with the annual Sons of the American Legion Post 441 Homecoming at 6 p.m. A ceremony will be held commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Washington Township Fire Department.

Food and music by Excalibur will follow at 7 p.m.

Saturday's events will start at 7:30 a.m. with sign-up for the 5K race at Otsego High School. The race will begin at 8 a.m., starting at the school and ending at Broad and Crom streets.

A Poker Run will start registration at 9 a.m. All riders will be back by 3 p.m.

A car show will also be held that day, starting at 10 a.m., with registration at 9 a.m.

The Community Festival Parade will line up at 9 a.m. and start at 10 a.m.

Bed Racing will follow at 11:30 a.m. Registration is at 11 a.m.

A cornhole tournament will start at 1 p.m., with a Kiddie Tractor Pull at 2 p.m. Carnival games will start at 2:30 p.m.

At 3 p.m., a pie auction will be held, as will a ping pong tournament.

The Joe Baker Band will begin performing at 4 p.m. and a rock paper scissors tournament will start at 4:30 p.m. A wing eating contest begins at 5:30 p.m.

Contemporary rock group Quickface will begin performing at 6 p.m. and a wine and beer auction will start at 7:30 p.m.

Freakenders will wrap up Saturday's events starting at 8 p.m., playing oldies and rock and roll.

Sunday will begin with a 10:30 a.m. church service at Centennial Park, with a potluck to follow. Registration for horseshoe and volleyball tournaments will start at 12 p.m., with volleyball starting at 12:30 p.m. and horseshoes beginning at 1 p.m.

The community festival will also feature a pancake breakfast, costing $5 a plate, Saturday from 8 to 10 a.m. at Moser's Village Store. Also featured will be a variety of crafts and other booths.
