(Editor's note: This is the third of a four-day listing of Bowling Green middle school students who were honored.)
The Bowling Green Exchange Club again is recognizing area youth for the good things they've accomplished this past year, in and out of the classroom.
The Exchange Club's Positive Start program asks teachers to honor students who have done something positive. Students must live in the Bowling Green School District and be in grades 7 and 8. The purpose is to honor students who have achieved "to the best of their abilities" to improve the school and community settings
A luncheon will be held Tuesday at Stone Ridge Golf Club to honor all 88 students who represent Bowling Green Middle School, St. Aloysius Catholic School and Bowling Green Christian Academy.
Mary Kettinger is an eighth-grade student at BGMS. She is a polite, hard-working student, active in ice skating at Bowling Green State University and the Faith-in-Action team at her church. Mary is a paper carrier for the Sentinel-Tribune. She is an avid piano player and has received various medals at the Honors Recital.
Jacob Konecny is a polite young man who works hard in school. He plays basketball and is in the BGMS Band. Jacob plays baseball for Myles East and is on the Vallenti Athletica Soccer team. He is a busy and kind student.
Matt Kramer is an eighth-grade student at BGMS. He is an asset to the classroom and continuously strives to do his best. He participates in class, consistently turns in his work, and works well with his classmates. He participates in hockey outside of school.
Lily Krueger is an accomplished BGMS student who participates in the Snak and Yak Book Club. She is a library assistant, and she participates in solo and ensemble contests. She volunteers at the Wood County District Public Library.
Alexia Larson is an eighth-grade student at BGMS. Her teachers appreciate her pleasant personality and smile. Alexia works very hard in all her classes, constantly striving to do her best. She is a responsible, well-behaved student. Alexia is a member of the middle school choir and band. She volunteers by making nursing home visits with her church group, and also helps with church luncheons.
Julia Maas is a member of BGMS cross country and basketball teams. She is an active member of her church by babysitting in the nursery, acting in plays, and as a member of the Bible quiz team.
Taylor Mason is a polite young lady and an enthusiastic BGMS student. She is friendly and respectful. She participates in Builders Club and track and has also volunteered her services at the library and at various community fundraisers.
Breanna Matney is a BGMS basketball player. She volunteers at animal shelters, and she's helps to clean the house. She has been a Student of the Month for Team Odyssey. Breanna earn all A's in her classes.
Gavin McCracken is an active class participant at BGMS with a strong work ethic. He plays football and is a member of the Jazz Band. He is also active in baseball and plays the piano. Gavin won the People to People Award.
Austin Miller sets an excellent example for his peers at BG Christian Academy. Austin always brings creativity and intelligence to his academic work and to class discussions. He is a positive role model for younger students.
Brad Minard is an excellent student, and he is a responsible young man. He plays in the BGMS Jazz Band and is active in soccer and the Boy Scouts. Brad is respectful, polite, and an excellent team player.
Anne Miner strives for academic excellence by taking BGMS honors classes, maintaining a straight A average while exceeding the expectations of her teachers.
Alex Munson has been a positive role model for other seventh-grade band and Bobcats Jazz Band members. He works diligently at BGMS. He goes beyond playing the notes on the page by playing expressively. His musicianship is excellent.
Rebecca O'Hare is an excellent BGMS student. She is a creative thinker who always puts maximum effort into her work. Rebecca is interested in the culture of Japan, and she is learning to speak Japanese.
Naila Ortega is a positive member of BGMS Team Odyssey. She is very helpful to classmates. She is responsible for household chores. She is a very kind person, and she serves as an excellent role model.
Lexie Palmer is an active eighth-grader at BG Christian Academy. She exhibits outstanding leadership both in the classroom and as vice president of Student Council. Lexie's ideas, work and attitude have had a positive effect on weekly Chapel.
Abby Paquette is a hard-working, creative person. She participates in BGMS Quiz Bow, cross country and track. She has received citizenship awards, and she volunteers in the community at many venues.
Mikayla Paxson is an eighth-grader at BGMS. She is a hard-working student who participates in track and tennis. Mikayla volunteers at the Humane Society, and she was awarded Student of the Month.
Alex Peterson is a seventh-grade student at BGMS. She is on the volleyball and basketball teams. She babysits and completes household chores. She has earned a five-year award in dance, medals in cross-country, and certificates in volleyball and basketball. Also, she was a student of the month at the middle school.
Rachel Piasecki is a seventh-grade student at BGMS. Rachel is polite and always has a positive attitude. She runs track for the middle school and is the vice president of her 4-H club. Not only does she volunteer her time through several 4-H activities, but she has also volunteered at Safety Town and is going to help at the Humane Society.
Alexis Reinbolt is an outstanding member of Team Endeavor a BGMS. Her teachers appreciate her terrific work ethic. Alexis shows person responsibility by consistently turning in high-quality homework and projects.
Maddie Ross is a wonderful member of BGMS where she is a hard worker and consistently is on the Honor Roll. She is a dancer at Miss Juliet Dance Studio, and she makes desserts for a soup kitchen in Toledo.
