'Positive Start' honors BG students PDF Print E-mail

(Editor’s note: This is the second of a four-day listing of Bowling Green middle school students who were honored.)
The Bowling Green Exchange Club again is recognizing area youth for the good things they’ve accomplished this past year, in and out of the classroom.
The Exchange Club’s Positive Start program asks teachers to honor students who have done something positive. Students must live in the Bowling Green School District and be in grades 7 and 8. The purpose is to honor students who have achieved “to the best of their abilities” to improve the school and community settings
A luncheon will be held Tuesday at Stone Ridge Golf Club to honor all 88 students who represent Bowling Green Middle School, St. Aloysius Catholic School and Bowling Green Christian Academy.
Ryan Cox is a personable young man who is always smiling. He has worked hard to make improvements in his academics and is able to maintain a positive social balance. He works well with his BGMS classmates, gets into fun, heated discussions and is caring.
Andrea Cromley participated in BGMS volleyball while achieving a straight A average.
Lauryn Dangler is a polite young lady who always tries to bring out the best in others. She plays volleyball for BGMS and has been active for Pure Energy Athletics All-Star Cheerleading and travel volleyball.
Mackenzie DeGraw is involved in BGMS Choir, and she is active in her youth group at church. She has responsibilities at home and has won creative family skills and poetry awards. She is in the seventh grade.
Morgan DeSmith is a seventh-grader at BGMS. She is a 4-H member who does chores around the house. She is an honor roll student who has won prestigious awards in 4-H.
Brooke DeVriendt is an energetic student who always strives to do her best. She is active at BGMS in the chess club, basketball team, and track. She has demonstrated responsibility through babysitting and dogsitting.
Sarah Dubreuil is an eighth-grade student at St. Aloysius. She is an extremely hard worker in the classroom. She continually strives to improve in all aspects of her learning. Sarah is very helpful to peers and staff, often asking if her help is needed with things around the classroom and school.
Lydia Dunn is an honor roll eighth-grade student at St. Aloysius. She is extremely conscientious in the classroom, putting forth her best effort into all schoolwork. Lydia is very helpful to her classmates, never hesitating to lend a helping hand.
Megan Eddington is a good BGMS student. She participates in cross country and track. Megan is a church leader and she also plays the piano. We are happy to have her on Team Phoenix.
Chelsea Eisel is a seventh-grade student at BGMS. Chelsea maintains a positive attitude, she is kind to classmates, and is a good member of Team Odyssey. At home, she does her chores.
Shaden Elwazani adds to BGMS class discussions, plays soccer, supports the school fundraisers and maintains an A average in his classes.
Brandon Gonzales is a seventh-grade student at BGMS. He has made tremendous progress playing the trombone. He has become a leader in the trombone section of the band and a positive role model for other students. He also plays in the Bobcat Jazz Band.
Hanna Halleck is an active member of Team Endeavor. She is a hard worker who puts forth her best effort. Hanna has improved throughout this school year, and it is anticipated that she will enjoy continued success.
Anthony Haney has been extremely impressive in developing his trumpet playing skills this year. An eighth-grader at BGMS, he had the second highest score of all seventh- and eighth-grade trumpet players in the six counties of Northwest Ohio auditions for OMEA honors band. After being selected to play in the honors band, he continue to work hard at developing his playing skills.
Jack Hanus is a seventh-grade student at BGMS. He played on the middle school’s basketball team and has won many golf tournaments. He is responsible for household chores. Team Odyssey has recognized Jack as a student of the month.
Clifford Hart is a seventh-grader at BGMS. He is a creative student and an active class participant. He plays football and is in the chess club and jazz band. He remains active in Boy Scouts, where he performs several community service projects.
Kelly Hayden is a seventh-grade student at BGMS. She is polite and always does her best. She is active in her church and at the Beat Dance Company where she often helps the younger students. She volunteers at Safety Town. Kelly is a trusted babysitter and also takes care of pets when people are away. Kelly is an excellent student at the middle school and has served on the yearbook committee for two years.
Jesse He is a seventh-grade student at BGMS. Jesse is a dedicated student who always pushes himself to excel. He participates in Quiz Bowl and football. He has been a Student of the Month for Team Apollo. He also volunteers at the library and is a violinist in the 2013 OMEA District 1 Honors Orchestra.
Kamara Hollins is an eighth-grade student at BGMS. She balances her social life at school with her academic responsibilities. She asks great questions, constantly participates, works well with her classmates, and turns in work that reflects her understanding. She has a great sense of humor.
Tynan Hubbell-Staeble is a seventh-grade student at BGMS. Tynan is a creative thinker and an active class participant. In school, he is active in cross-country, wrestling, and the Snack and Yak book club. He also participates in the Valentis Athletica Soccer Club. He volunteers at the library and for Organizing for America.
Narissa Huddleson is a polite and respectful BGMS student. She raises calves and goats. She is a very responsible person, and she has earned numerous ribbons for her care of animals. Narissa is a generous person.
Morgan Jones is a dedicated BGMS student who also participates on the track and volleyball teams. She is a member of Latitude 41 Volleyball Club. She has volunteered at the Humane Society, and she always does her best.
Sarah Kerr is a very active BGMS seventh-grader. She participates in cross country, dance team, choir, band, tumbling, track, church youth group, Live Wire and household chores. She is an excellent student.
