The Ninth Annual Wood County Living History program is Sunday at 2 p.m. in Oak Grove Cemetery in Bowling Green.
Eight individuals will come to life and tell their stories. Clive and Irene Patten of  "A Joyful Noise" will provide music before the event. The Wood County Sheriff's Department will be on hand to provide free rides up to the mound where the program will be held. Parking is available in the cemetery, as well as on the adjacent Bowling Green State University campus.
Those attending are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. In case of heavy rain, the program will be moved to the First United Methodist Church, 1506 E. Wooster St.
Re-enactors will provide a first-person history lesson in period appropriate clothing. Those people chosen to be portrayed by the Living History Committee were picked because "they had a story to be told" and it was felt the rest of the community would enjoy hearing it.
Honorees include:
James Belleville (1785-1861) was born in Delaware and later moved to Ohio. A veteran of War of 1812 serving under Captain John Howell, he moved to Perrysburg Township, near Dowling in 1920 where he farmed. Golf is now played on his farm. Belleville will be portrayed by his great-grandson Mike Belleville.

George Nelson (1900-1979) was born in Albany, Mo., and enlisted in the Army in 1918, but never got out of boot camp. In 1937, with his wife, Ethel, opened the Giant Hamburg restaurant on South Main Street in what looked like a railroad car. Durrell Johnson will be portraying Nelson.
Ethel Nelson (1907-1996) was born in Miller City and moved to Toledo with her family where she attended Libby High School. Ethel and George married in 1925. After her husband's death, she continued to operate the Giant Hamburg.  She will be portrayed by Joyce Johnson.
Ruth Putnam (1906-1998) was born in Hancock County and graduated from Findlay Hospital School of Nursing in 1928. She was a Wood County Health Nurse/School Nurse serving as school nurse for Otsego School District. Putnam will be portrayed by Donna Schuerman.
Liberty Warner (1842-1863) was born in Mt. Blanchard and enlisted at age 19 from Washington Township into the 21st Regiment, Ohio volunteers.  He was killed Sept. 20, 1863, at the Battle of Chickamauga. He will portrayed by Garrett Benschoter.
Elliott Warner (1844-1930) is the brother of Liberty and served in the 144th OVI during the Civil War and was captured by the rebels and escaped. After the war, he married and became a farmer and fruit raiser. Dylan Benschoter will portray Elliott.
An ad hoc committee initiated by the Wood County Genealogical Society established the Wood County Living History Day in 2004. The present day Living History Program is sponsored by the Wood County Historical Society.
