Results for the Nov. 6 general election were certified this morning by the Wood County Board of Elections.
The adding in of 1,895 provisional ballots did not change the outcome of any race or issue on the ballot, according to Debbie Hazard, deputy director of the board of elections.
One issue was so close, however, that a recount will be required. The certified count for the Freedom Township additional 1-mill tax levy for current expenses was 725 in favor and 728 opposed to the levy.
The recount will be done Dec. 3 at 9:30 a.m.
Another issue won with a one vote margin. However, so few votes were cast on the West Millgrove renewal of a 5-mill levy for current expenses, that an automatic recount is not required, Hazard said.
In order to qualify for an automatic recount, the margin has to be one-half of 1 percent or less, according to state law.
The provisional ballots added into the vote tallies from election night are those cast by people who moved within Wood County, or to another county and did not change their addresses with the board of elections.
The ballots are counted if the board of elections can verify their previous voter registrations.
