The Bowling Green Fireworks Campaign is looking for donations to help the city's annual Fourth of July show light up the sky yet again.
The fireworks are set for July 3.
Charlie Bechstein, one of the campaign members, said at Friday's Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors meeting that they are still in the fundraising phase of the efforts, and have raised $7,806 to date. Another $3,000 more has been committed by donors.
However, the campaign needs a total of between $15,000 and $16,000 reach their goal - meaning that about $6,000 is still left to be raised.
"So keep pushing," Bechstein said. "Get the word out to your friends."
Checks for donations may be made out to the 2012 Bowling Green Community Fireworks and may be mailed to, or dropped off, at the following locations:
• First Federal bank, 1226 W. Wooster St., P.O. Box 342.
• Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce, 163 North Main St., P.O. Box 31.
For further information, questioned may be directed at campaign members Bechstein, Karmen Concannon, Andy Newlove and Earlene Kilpatrick.

I wish they would keep this processing going through the entire year. Given how central Bowling Green is, to so many people, a larger, higher quality display would be nice.
