Hundreds of classic vehicles and a special exhibit of electric and hybrid vehicles will highlight the 11th annual Classics on Main Saturday in downtown Bowling Green.
Visitors can expect to see vehicles ranging from a Ford Model A to a Tesla Roadster electric sports car.
The 300 horsepower Tesla Roadster accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds and goes for 245 miles on a battery charge. It is one of more than a dozen electric and hybrid vehicles featured in the Electric Avenue exhibit planned for the Huntington bank parking lot at Clough and South Main streets.
The Electric Avenue exhibit is a new feature at the show, which had a record vehicle registration of 326 cars in 2011.
Pre-registration numbers for this year foretell another great show for car enthusiasts.
Other vehicles entered in the largest one-day judged show in the region include muscle cars, street rods, customized vehicles, trucks, imports and cars of every era from the 1920s to today.  The show occupies several blocks of Main Street and two parking lots in Bowling Green's historic downtown.
Vehicles may be registered in advance, or Saturday from  8 a.m. to noon.
The eight judges begin their work immediately after registration closes and award 48 prizes in 18 categories, plus a Best of Show trophy.
Visitors are encouraged to vote for their favorite cars, and three People's Choice awards are also made. Bowling Green Mayor Dick Edwards will present the awards at 3 p.m.
The Classics on Main Committee has been working on the show for many months.
Some of the categories have been modified and the People's Choice awards have been simplified.
Visitor admission to the show is free, and there are several other visitor activities in addition to the People's Choice awards.
Activities include games over the public address system, a 50/50 raffle and demonstrations by the Venom Nitro Racers RC Club.
After the show officially closes at 4 p.m., the downtown is also hosting several arts related events organized by the Northwest Ohio Community Art Exhibit  and the Bowling Green Arts Council.
Main Street and some side streets will be closed at 5 a.m. Saturday to all set up for the show to begin. Main Street will be closed from Clay and Ridge streets on the north to Pearl Street on the south.
Streets will be reopened after vehicles clear the area.
Wooster Street will be open to traffic through the day but there will be no access to Main Street from that intersection.
More than two dozen businesses and individuals are helping to sponsor the event.
The show will be held rain or shine.
