Ace Hardware proceeding with Perrysburg Twp. closure

LIME CITY – More than 100 jobs will be lost when a Perrysburg Township distribution center closes in the
fall.
Ace Hardware notified the state in a letter last week that it will proceed with plans to close its
distribution center on Fifth Street, which supplies products to more than 300 stores in Ohio, Michigan
and northern Kentucky.
Employee separations are planned to be over two weeks beginning July 25, with operations being shut down
leading up to the center’s closure on Oct. 9, and full dismantling expected before the end of the year.

The plan to close the facility was reported last year.
The letter outlines as many as 105 positions which could be affected, either in the warehouse or in
management and support roles.
Warehouse employees identified in the letter total 51, mostly including merchandise handlers as well as
two maintenance positions.
Also to be impacted are 27 drivers working for the center, as well as employees in technology, human
resources, loss-prevention and management.
In a statement Wednesday, Ace said moving the center to West Jefferson, Ohio, would "better serve
its independently-owned retailers and optimize its supply chain network."
