FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) — A General Motors supplier plans to open a new facility near Fort Wayne and hire up to 160 workers in the next few years.

Ground Effects LLC announced Wednesday it expected to spend about $3.4 million to lease and equip a facility where it will process bed liners and other accessories for GM's nearby pickup truck assembly plant.

The company based in Ontario, Canada says it expects to begin manufacturing at the factory by December. The factory is expected at first to make 20,000 bed liners a year, with full production eventually reaching 50,000 a year.

Ground Effects now has facilities across Canada, Michigan, Kentucky and Missouri.
