Raegen Vickers, of the Gold Medal 4-H Club, received two "Clock Trophies," at the recent Ohio State Fair. One was in Leadership for her One-on-one project; and the other was in Team Demonstration. The clock trophy is the top award for 4-H projects at the state level. In order to receive the trophy, a 4-H member must first qualify to advance to state as one of the top projects from the county. Once at the state, the project must receive the "Outstanding of the Day" award. Then from all the outstanding awards, one clock trophy is presented for each project. Vickers also earned outstanding of the day awards for It's Time For Clothing Intermediate in the fashion category. Hannah Bakies, also of Gold Medal 4-H, also received a clock trophy in the Team Demonstration along with Vickers. The only other Wood County 4-H member to earn a clock trophy was Trey Yarger, Golden Key 4-H Club, who earned the top honor for his Lawn Care Junior project in small engines and lawn care category. Other "outstanding" awards were presented to the following 4-H members with their club and project: Tyler Ruck, Portage Valley, Bicycle Adventures I; McKenzie Wilhelm, Leaders of Tomorrow, Scrapbooking; Kira Miller, Lucky Charms, Jr. Individual demonstration; Shannon Damschroeder, Tontogany Four Leaf Clover, Rope; Stacy Kotula, Dowling Stitch, Stir & Stock, Accessories For Teens; Lindsay Boelkens, Duke's Mixture, Mini Meal Magic; Mary Jo Ackerman, Klassy Kids, Staying Healthy; Susan Johnson, Colorful Clovers, Fishing for the Beginner; and Wade Sattler, Duke's Mixture, and Nathan Meek, Perry-Go-Getters, both for their Finishing Up projects. Other project awards included: Andrew Clasey, Colorful Clovers, Dog Poster, Silver Medallion Award; and Nathan Spencer, Creative Critters, Top 20 Photo on Photography Day. |
