The Gene and Jennifer Robinson family of Rudolph, participated in the Ohio 4-H/Japanese Labo exchange program this summer. Host brother and sister, Logan, 13, and Kendal, 8, welcomed Masato Kito, 13, of Chikushino, Japan, to their family.
Masato is a member of Labo, an English language club in Japan. There were 80 Japanese children, age 12 to 15, plus adult chaperones in this year’s delegation to Ohio.
Jenny, Masato’s host mom commented, “He made us some pudding-like dessert for breakfast. His enthusiasm is contagious.”
He also made the family okonomiyaki, a vegetable pancake. Sweet corn seemed to be one of his Ohio favorites.
The exchange program is coordinated through the Ohio Cooperative Extension Service, OSU, and is offered every summer, from late July to mid August.
