Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association's 2013 Farm Tour series continues this weekend in Grand Rapids with a tour of Omega Meats on Saturday.
It will be held at 2 p.m. at the farm located at 11415 Pollock Road, Grand Rapids.
Graham Farms specializes in pasture-raised meat. Lindsay Graham raises grass-fed beef, pastured chickens and turkeys, and pastured heritage breed hogs on 16 acres using rotational grazing practices.
According to Graham, Omega Meats strives to be a "low input farm that feeds the soil through nutrient cycles from the proper use of livestock." When making decisions on his farm, he asks himself three questions: "Is it good for the soil? Is it good for the livestock? And is it good for human consumption?"
This tour is free and open to the public. No registration is necessary.
