|It's a matter of 'degrees' for 16 Elmwood FFA members|

The state FFA evaluation has been completed and it resulted in good news for the Elmwood FFA. All 10 applicants passed the evaluation and they were informed that they will receive the State FFA Degree at the State FFA Convention on May 3. This year's degree recipients are: Garrett Benschoter, Brittany George, Chelsie Schmitz, Morgan Huff, Amanda Jones, Marisa Ayala, Kara Buchman, Isaiah Lundquest, Madison Reinhard, and Mitch Beaverson.
Other applications submitted to the state evaluation included six American Degree candidates. The American Degree is the highest accomplishment of an FFA member and requires the completion of a 13-page application. All of Elmwood's American Degree applications were sent on to undergo a final evaluation at the national level. Elmwood's American Degree applicants for this year include: Michelle Sander, Sarah Laborie, Vanessa Wagner, Mitch Emmitt, Max Zyski, and Justin Barndt.
The chapter recently held officer elections resulting in the following: president Chelsie Schmitz; with Amanda Jones as vice president. The secretary will be Taylor Barndt and Morgan Huff as treasurer. The reporter is Meagan Wise as Mitch Beaverson serves as the sentinel. Garrett Benschoter was selected as the student adviser.
Other posts filled include; Makayla Mohre, assistant secretary; Marisa Ayala, assistant treasurer; Ashley Veryser, assistant reporter; Angelique Franks, historian and Alexis Miller, parliamentarian.
Officers will be installed at the chapter's annual awards banquet scheduled for April 20.
