Arbor to meet Saturday
Portage Center Arbor #524 of the Gleaners will meet Saturday at Mt. Zion United Brethren Family Life Center, 7481 Bays Road, Wayne.
There will be a "Hobo Stew" at 5:30 p.m. If you have extra vegetables from your garden bring them along to add to the stew. Those attending should also bring their own table services.
A short meeting will follow the meal.
Joy Collins will talk about the organization's new activity, "My Mission for Life."
The public is invited to attend.
Donations sought for Christmas trees for service
"Operation Evergreen," conducted by the Ohio Christmas Tree Association will once again be sending Christmas trees to U.S. military overseas for the holidays.
Plans are to donate 100 trees, with each tree costing $160 to ship to Kuwait in November. All trees, ornaments, transportation ,etc., are donated.
The organization is looking for assistance with the shipping costs.
Checks may be made payable to OCTA _ Operation Evergreen and sent to the OCTA at 6870 Licking Valley Road, Frazeysburg, Ohio 43822.
