Black Swamp Conservancy receives $5,000 grant
PERRYSBURG — Black Swamp Conservancy has received a $5,000 grant from the DuPont Pioneer Giving Program.
“As a nonprofit organization that relies solely on the support of individuals, foundations and corporate donations, grants such as these are vital to our continued success,” said Rob Krain, executive director of the Conservancy. “We truly appreciate the support we receive from DuPont Pioneer. These funds will be a tremendous help in supporting the ongoing sustainability of our mission.”
Black Swamp Conservancy covers a 16-county service area in northwest Ohio, and was founded in 1993. The Conservancy protects more than 13,000 acres of woods, wetlands, prairies and working farms from development, forever.
Seneca County Junior Fair to hold weekend flea market
TIFFIN — The Seneca County Junior Fair Foundation will hold a flea market Saturday and Sunday at the Seneca County Fairgrounds, 100 Hopewell Ave., Tiffin.
The public is invited to one of the largest shows in Northwest Ohio. Parking and admission is free. The show runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. Camping is available at $20 per night. Breakfast is available on the grounds from 7 to 10 a.m. both days.
Tank’s among meat winners
Tanks Meats, of Elmore, was recognized at the recent 2013 Ohio production competition for meat producers with the grand champion in spicy dinner sausage and reserve champion honors in smoked turkey. The Best of Show was awarded to Kah Meats from Wapakoneta for their slab bacon (Skin Off).
