Sheep and goat ‘ID Day’ Saturday
On Saturday, all market goats and market lambs that will be shown at the Wood County Fair must be weighed
and tagged. Exhibitors should plan to arrive at the fairgrounds (swine barn) between 8-10 a.m. Animals
must be haltered and have a scrapie ID tag. Rate of gain weights will be taken and animals that are
county born and raised will be recorded.
Note that the Poe Road/Haskins Road intersection is under construction. Poe Road is open. Enter and exit
the fairgrounds at the Brim Road gate D.
S.A.V.E. hosts free lecture
On April 29, the Science Alliance for Valuing the Environment (S.A.V.E.) Inc. will host a lecture titled:
"Alternate Growing Practices: Hydroponic and Season Extension". The lecture features Rebecca
Singer, Vice President/Director, Agricultural Programs, Center for Innovative Food Technologies.
The lecture will be held from 7:30-9 p.m. in the Franciscan Theater and Conference Center of Lourdes
University, Sylvania. Attendance is free and is open to the public.
