The subject of ethanol is one of the most dominant in agriculture and society, today. There is continual debate over the production of ethanol in America, but it is a fact that the grain ethanol process not only results in renewable fuel, but nutritious animal feed as well.
While many see the value of the use of corn and other products to create the fuel alternative, others bristle at the fact that grain is used for anything other than food.
"All Things Ethanol" is the topic for the March 21 Northwest Ohio Ag-Business Breakfast Forum. It will be held at the Agricultural Incubator Foundation, located on Ohio 582, just west of Ohio 25. The breakfast runs from 8 - 9:30 a.m. Networking starts at 8 a.m., and the forum begins at 8:30 a.m.
Mark Borer, general manager, POET Biorefining (Leipsic, Ohio plant), recognizes the positive effect ethanol has on our nation, and is ready to discuss the ethanol's facts and fallacies, including consumption, technology, cellulosic ethanol, and E15 fuel, when he discusses, "All Things Ethanol" at the breakfast.
In modern ethanol production, the Renewable Fuels Association states that for every bushel of corn that is processed, one-third is returned to the livestock feed market.
POET is one of the world's largest producers of ethanol and other biorefined products.
Each month he forum provides an opportunity to gain information on current issues, trends and programs in the agricultural community and those who support the agricultural economy.
