Bowling Green FFA participated in its ninth Mini Dance Marathon at BGSU on March 24. The chapter was one of five schools that participated in the event and had 31 dancers attend.
Through the fundraising work of the chapter and individual dancers, BG FFA presented a check for $3,466.90 for the Children's Miracle Network.
The "Mini Marathon" is sponsored by the BGSU Dance Marathon which raises funds annually for Mercy Children's Hospital. The event began in 2004 for area high schools to assist in the effort. The BG FFA has participated every year since the event began.
The BG FFA extends its thanks to all who supported its numerous fundraisers for this event. These included tractor pull parking during the National Tractor Pull last summer, the Annual BG FFA Dunk Tank and Truck Smash Tailgate before a home football game, and Penny Wars held during class. All proceeds from these events went towards the Mini Dance Marathon.
To date, since 2004, the BG FFA has raised and donated $29,712 through the Mini Dance Marathon!
At the "mini marathon," students stand on their feet for six hours participating in a variety of fun activities and events planned by the college students. During the event, families and the youth being served called "miracle families" were on hand to meet the FFA members and tell their stories, thanking everyone for their efforts. The event was enjoyed by all and members are looking forward to participating next year.
