The BG FFA Chapter was named a Top 10 Chapter at the 86th Ohio FFA Convention. This award recognizes the
top 10 FFA Chapters out of 325 chapters in Ohio.
The chapter also was recognized as a Top 10 Chapter in the areas of Chapter and Student Development as
well as a Gold Emblem Chapter (given to the top 30 percent of FFA Chapters in Ohio).
The chapter members submit an application and put together a presentation about the chapter’s activities
to be included in this elite group.
BG was also recognized on stage for charitable donations to the Ohio FFA Foundation, the Children’s
Miracle Network and CROP/Church World Services. Three BG FFA officers were recognized among the state’s
best during one of the convention sessions.
Amanda Barndt, Madalyn Fletcher and Alex Wynn were recognized with gold medals for their outstanding
books and record-keeping skills. The 20-member delegation from Bowling Green also heard from
motivational speakers and attended the career show during the convention.
There also was time for fun one evening when members went out to eat and participated in go-carting,
laser tag and miniature golf.
Four BG FFA member’s pictures will be added to the State FFA Degree Wall in the classroom for 2014.
Mason Apple, Taylor DeSmith, Fletcher and Zac Lucas received their State FFA Degrees at the final session
of the convention.
