The Wood County Fair will showcase the "Bear Mountain Wildlife Encounter Show" this year along
the midway.
There will be two shows on the opening night, July 28; with three shows daily through Aug. 3.
This will be the first appearance for the bear show at the fair.
Promoters note the show is designed to be both entertaining and educational and is targeted to both
adults and children.
The show is comprised of five Syrian Brown bears are named Giza, Nanook, Tutter, Nemo and Zuzu. Each bear
has different abilities, talents and intelligence.
Show officials say the Syrian Brown bears are of a species not well known to most people but "loved,
reared and respected by the Bear Mountain Family."
The operators indicated they have "dedicated more than 30 years to the care and well-being of the
bear species by providing a healthy, safe and secure environment where humans and animals live and work
together in cooperation."
