Gold Medal 4-H Club members walked in "Making It Strides" Cancer Walk at Levis Commons on May 11. On May 19, the club visited Lola's Yogurt for a tour and entrepreneur talk from the owner. There was also a surprise good-bye party for the Stewart family (past club members) who are moving to Virginia.
On June 13, the club visited Way Public Library for a project work day as they broke into groups for planning projects. Members also volunteered for three hours at Perrysburg Township recycling on June 15.
For their nutrition project club members Sarah Bahler, Nathalie Rawlins, Sarah Schaller and Raegen Vickers prepared a dinner for club members on June 27. The table centerpieces were made by Katie Renner. It was held at the fellowship hall of Zion Lutheran Church, Latcha
Project reports have been given by:
• Yasmina Maaraba on her guinea pig
• Sarah Bahler on making manicotti and manners at the table
• Nathalie Rawlins on making trail mix and varieties; plus she shared health and safety suntan tips
• Jenny Schaller on chicken egg parts
• Raegen Vickers on making homemade foods vs. already made foods plus setting goals (long term, medium, short term).
In addition health and safety reports have been given by James Hanneman on food poisoning; and one on swimming tips
Cloverbud crafts were made at each meeting including catapults; rockets and butterflies from coffee filters
The club has agreed on its fair booth theme and having bakes sales at Wood County project judging, The donations from that sale will be given to the 4-H Camp Palmer Pool Fund.
There was a meeting scheduled on Monday at a chicken farm for a chicken demonstration and to prepare for project judging.
Dukes Mixture 4-H Club met Sunday at the Webster Township Building.
Members decided they are doing a beach-like theme for their fair booth and for the T-shirt members chose a plain grass green front with Dukes Mixture on the back.
Future projects/activities of the club: Next meeting we are taking photos be prepared. Bring beach like items and cans of food for the food pantry.
The next scheduled meeting. is July 21 at 8 p.m. at the Webster Township Building
