Champion Drive
The Champion Drive 4-H club met June 8 at the Elmwood Community Center banquet room.
The focus of the meeting including looking at the booth and float theme, ice cream party, project group
meetings.
Demonstrations were done by Jaylin Dilsaver on taking care of a calf;
Jonathon Bodnar on meat chickens; and Thomas Bodnar on fancy chickens.
The club voted to have a dinner theme on the float. The club also chose
their booth theme.
Members met with other people who are taking the same type of projects
and had a group meeting. They had an ice cream party with every family
bringing one topping and the club paid for the ice cream.
The club is starting to create objects for the float and booth.
The next meeting is June 29 in the same meeting room.
Dowling Stitch, Stir and Stock
The June 11 meeting of the Dowling Stitch, Stir, and Stock 4-H Club was
held at the Wood County historical society. The question for role call
was “What do you want to accomplish today?”
Upcoming dates for the 4-H club include Parents Night for the club on July 18th.
There is a reminder from the treasurer that dues are in need to be
collected. Old business was discussed. After the meeting was adjourned,
the club participated in the scavenger hunt that was provided at the
Historical Society. The next meeting was slated June 18th at the Luckey
Legion beginning at 12:30 p.m.
Lucky Charms
Lucky Charms 4-H Club met June 8 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.
The meeting opened with demonstrations. Member Emma Sievert shared “Mr.
Tibb’s Trip to the Vet,” a story she wrote from a cat’s point of view.
Kennedi Corthell brought her Bichon Frise to show members the dog’s
tricks. Member Keira Miller and Advisor Amy Weller demonstrated
interview skills.
For roll call, members answered to their favorite cookie. Health and
Safety Officer Analisa Bihary discussed ways to avoid dehydration. Abby
Bateson updated club members on Fair Booth plans. Mandy Hartman shared
her recent experiences at Kids Outdoor Science Camp.
After the business meeting, members participated in mock judging, and
played “Frozen Freeze Tag” outside. The Lucky Charms’ next meeting will
be July 13 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.
