The Lucky Charms 4-H club met at St. Mark's Lutheran Church on March 10.
Health and Safety officer Dana Kleman spoke to members regarding the importance of calcium in our bodies. Members discussed where calcium could be found, what it does for your body and the amount needed each day.
During the meeting members discussed the club constitution and the Extension Office recommendation to standardize all Wood County club constitutions. Each club then can have separate bylaws. Per the Lucky Charms current constitution, this motion was tabled until the next meeting.
Members divided into committees, one for the club fun day and the other for the 4-H booth. The chairperson of each committee will report ideas at the next meeting.
For Kira Miller's leadership project she did a demonstration on how to do a demonstration. This helped new members understand that a demonstration is not scary. Avalyn Bihary demonstrated the correct way to wear a bicycle helmet then explained why they are so important to use. Tim Kleman followed up on his demonstration from the last meeting by bringing his backpack full of gear. Only one member successfully walked across the room with the backpack on. Tim is really going to have to practice walking with that heavy backpack for his trip. Ian Rybak taught club members a Karate routine.
During recreation Kleman led members in the game "Love Your Neighbor." Everybody had fun playing the game.
The next meeting will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the church.
All Wood County 4-H clubs are encouraged to submit meeting reports and other activities of their clubs for publication.
Reports will run on the farm pages as space permits. Pictures may be submitted of special events for consideration. Photos should be sent to the same e-mail as .jpg attachments.
