Champion Drive
The Champion Drive 4-H Club met March 23 at Portage Township Building with members given their project
books for the year. Any changes must be made by April 15 with the Extension Office.
Demonstrations were done by Tyer and Tanner Shaffer on gun and hunting safety, Mackenzie Shaffer on the
bacteria in animals mouths, and Haylee Betz on deer antlers and shed hunting.
Club shirt order forms were handed out. Shirt orders and money are due at the April 27 meeting. The
possible dates for the club’s fundraiser at McDonald’s and its community service ideas were discussed.

Members also voted on having a float in the junior fair parade and sponsoring a trophy. The members with
market animals were informed the group quality assurance will be June 8 at 6 p.m. The members made
Easter and spring cards for a local cancer patient.
Future projects/activities of the club include visiting Central Joint Fire Department, the fund-raising
benefit at McDonald’s, and park clean up
The next meeting will be 4 p.m. April 27, at the Central Joint Fire Department.
Horses R Us
Horses R Us 4-H Club member met with their advisor at the Wood County Fairgrounds on Wednesday. The topic
of the meeting was sportsmanship, fair planning, and designing the club’s new T-shirts.
Members went over the "Lets be junior fair" book. Two of the members went over their projects.

Future projects include bake sale/car wash at the end of April. The next meeting will be held May 14, at
the Wood County Fairgrounds.
Klassy Kids
The Klassy Kids 4-H Club met March 23 at McDonald’s.
Those attending received and went over the basics their project books. The group also talked about what
they are going to do for an educational meeting (and more).
Future projects or activities of the club include "Join Hands Day," designing shirts and
educational meeting places.
The next meeting will be on April 13 at McDonald’s in North Baltimore.
Black Swamp Trailblazers
The last meeting of the Black Swamp Trailblazers was March 16 at Grounds For Thought Coffee Shop in
Bowling Green,.
Officers spoke to the group regarding upcoming important date reminders. These dates include: May 20 is
Livestock Quality Assurance at 7 p.m. at the Jr. Fair Building; June 1, Livestock entry forms are due,
June 20-24 is Wood County 4-H Camp, and July 1 Style Review cards are due.
Future business to be discussed at the next meeting includes 4-H Fair booth decoration, the fair parade
float, and a possible field trip.
The club was led by Recreation officer Lily Parker in a selection of short skits. The club was divided
into four groups, each group randomly choosing a time, a place and an item from a bag, and had 15
minutes to prepare a skit based on those things.
The next scheduled meeting is April 17 at 6 p.m. The weather will determine if it is an indoor or outdoor
meeting, so club members are asked to check the club Facebook page for meeting place.
