Gold Medal
The Gold Medal 4-H Club met March 11 at the Waterford at Levis Commons for its 2014 kick-off and
organizational meeting An "Open House" was held on Feb. 22.
At the meeting club officers were elected with Sarah Schaller chosen as president; and Jenny Schaller as
the vice president. The duties of secretary will be shared by four individuals. Those would be Sarah
Bahler, Katie Gerber, Ethan Vile and Lizzie Zura. Ariana Allen was elected as treasurer; with three
reporters voted to fill that office. Those three are Katie Zura, Lauren Drzewiecki and Yasmina Maaraba.
Taking on the role of historian will be Kiley Sabo and Aaron Jackson.
The recreation leaders will be Samantha Drzewiecki and Rania Maaraba; with Haley Riddle as health, safety
and environmental leader. Serving as fair booth and float leaders will be Meridith Bacue, Reagan Bacue,
Lucas Vile, Grace Holbrook, Jake Ng, Casey Ng and Elise Allen.
Membership and member commitment forms were also signed and turned in.
Haruna, a Japanese exchange student, spoke of her life in Japan and past trips to the United States, and
she later led the club in making origami strawberries.
Easter baskets were made by the members for the residents at the Waterford.
Members of the club were excited to welcome many new members and look forward to beginning a great 2014
year.
The next meeting is scheduled for today from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Way Public Library.
