Horses R Us
The Horses R Us 4-H Club met May 14 and talked about
fundraising. The club is helping out at the Alicia’s Voice Citizens
Against Domestic Violence 5k. The members are also having a car wash and
bake sale on June 21 and July 19.
Decorations for the barn during
fair were discussed. The club talked about Fair due dates and PAS
entries. The members turned in their horse ID forms and pictures. The
members riding will have a riding session at the fairgrounds on June 1.
Jackson Livestock
Jackson
Livestock 4-H club had a meeting on April 27 at the Ohio State research
farm. Cortlan Sheeks, Rachel Wenzinger, and Taylor Crawford gave
demonstrations. Cortlan talked about signs of sickness in goats, and
Rachel did her demonstration on healthy desserts. Taylor told members
how to care for goats. Cortlan, as club president, talked on manners and
when to say please and thank you. To end the meeting Wenzingers and
Crawfords brought snacks to eat. The next meeting was set for May 18.
Blue Ribbon Rangers
The
members of the Blue Ribbon Rangers 4-H Club chose its king and queen
candidates to represent the club in the parade this year at the Wood
County Fair. The king candidate will be Steven Speck, and Michaela
Booth will vie for queen.
The members met in their advisor groups
and picked dates when to present their topic for the group. One of our
advisers talked to the club about sportsmanship and etiquette and what
they mean, from the Let’s Be Junior Fair book. The next meeting will be
held June 9, at Dowling Church in Bowling Green, at 7 p.m.
Wood ‘N Horses
Leaders
of the Wood ’N Horses continue to sell raffle tickets for baskets of
horse supplies. The next meeting is a work meeting on June 3 at 6:30.
The king candidate for the club is Beau Kerr and the queen is Stephanie
Devo. Members are reminded the entry form and ID papers are due June 1.
