The Bowling Green Women’s Club honored creative writers from Bowling Green earlier
this month.
The club had 333 entries from nine different schools into its 30th annual creative
writing contest.
Here are the first place winners in prose and poetry, followed by their teachers and
schools:
Eli Marx, first grade, prose, Shannon Artim, Kenwood Elementary.
Christy Thompson, first grade, poetry, Susan Sweet, Bowling Green Christian Academy.

Isabelle Broman, second grade, prose, Megan Prysylski and Liz Resler, Montessori
School of Bowling Green.
Yeowoon Jung, prose, second grade, prose, Prybylski and Resler, Montessori.
Madison Dailey, poetry, second grade, poetry, Margie Larson, BG Christian Academy.

Jakob Innes, prose, third grade, Amy Rahmel, Crim Elementary.
Terra Sloane, prose, third grade, Deb Pinchoff, Kenwood.
Meara Holden, poetry, third grade, Mary Russell, St. Aloysius Catholic School.

Rahmel was the coordinator of the contest.
Judges were Jean Ladd, Helene Weinberger, Bobbie Lane, Jo Vernon, Kathy East, Faye
Marks, Dodie Titus, Sue Hess, Wendy Stram, Pat McGinnis, Melanie Stretchbery and
Rahmel.
Musical entertainment for the evening was provided by Alex and Sarah Munson, who
played the piano. Sarah is a fourth-grader at Crim, while Alex is a sixth-grader
and attends Montessori.
Donna Schmidt coordinated the music portion of the program.
The hostess committee included Bobbie Lane, Lynnette Rosebrook, Joan Gordon, Norma
Stickler, Mary Mackzum, Rahmel, Stretchbery and Ladd.
